E58/DN 1C from Hungary, passing through Satu Mare, Baia Mare and then through Gutâi Mountains via the Gutâi Pass (on DN 18) or through Cavnic –Neteda Pass, towards Sighetu Marmaţiei

DN 18 from Vatra Dornei, passing through Borşa, Sighetu Marmaţiei, towards Ocna Şugatag; as an alternative, after Borşa, leave DN 18 for DN 17C and then DJ 186 through Săcel, Săliştea de Sus, Dragomireşti, Bârsana then take the secondary road towards Ocna Şugatag, through Călineşti

Baia Mare: main railway station of Maramureş, with direct connections with big cities in the west and centre of the country, with Bucharest and Budapest. Take a bus from the auto-station towards Ocna Şugatag or Sighetu Marmaţiei or alternatively an authorised taxi from the railway station (transfer takes about an hour, depending on weather conditions and traffic)

Sighetu Marmaţiei: the railway of Sighetu Marmaţiei has direct connections with Bucureşti, Braşov, Cluj, Timişoara. Take a bus from the auto-station towards Ocna Şugatag or alternatively an authorised taxi (transfer takes about 30 minutes, depending on weather conditions and traffic)
