What we'll do

• Our expedition begins with a climb to the Tătaru Plateau, at 1000 m, starting from Sat Șugatag. At the start we are introduced to the fascinating story of the volcanoes and the formation of the Gutâi Mountains, while exploring the various types of vegetation around us.
• Through the dwarf shrubs of bilberry and cowberry we discover the area's healing plants and hold a treasure hunt on the subalpine meadows of the Tătaru Plateau — a fun and educational way to explore nature.
• Along the way we meet solitary trees that provide food and shelter for the region's wildlife — a chance to learn about the close relationship between wild flora and fauna.
• The final stage takes us to the Iezerul Mare peat bog, where we explore the unique life of the bogs. We understand how peat forms, its role in carbon sequestration and its impact on climate change, and we observe the specific flora, including arctic moss, carnivorous plants and the beautiful cottongrass.
